Parties & Events at Queen City Clay

Queen City Clay offers private parties for all types of events including everything from 2-hour birthday parties to full day corporate team building programs. We need a minimum of 2 weeks notice to plan your event so we can secure an instructor and make sure the appropriate space is available. Please fill out the form at the bottom of this page to get the ball rolling on scheduling your party!

We have created several options to fit your time and budget. Here’s the short list:

Wheel Throwing

Try your hand at the potter’s wheel! Everyone is guaranteed to make a pot with the help of our skilled instructors. Step by step demos, firing, and glaze included. No experience necessary. Ages 8+ (Not a great option for kids under 8, as they lack the upper body strength needed for centering and become frustrated.)

2 hours, $60 per person.

6 person minimum, 30 person maximum.

Handbuilding

Perfect for those wanting to spend a little more time working on a specific project. Participants work directly with the clay to mold an individual piece or work as a group to sculpt a masterpiece (great for team building!). Groups working on individual projects can choose from a bud vase, mug, candle holder, planter, or small plate form. Everyone in the party will do the same project. Step by step instruction, firing, and glaze included. No experience necessary. All ages.

2 hours, $60 per person.

6 person minimum, 40 person maximum.

Handbuilding - Virtual

Enjoy your event from the comfort of your own home or office using zoom! A representative from your group will pick up supplies from QCC ahead of time. Participants work directly with the clay to mold an individual piece, choosing from a mug or a bud vase. Everyone in the party will do the same project. Step by step demos, firing, and glaze included. Projects will need to be dropped off by the group representative at QCC for firing and glazing. Pieces will be ready for pick-up 2 weeks after we receive them. All ages, but best for adults. Kids under 12 should have an adult assisting them with their projects.

Pottery Painting

A large selection of bisque ware is readily available for you to design, paint, and personalize your very own piece. Our instructors will be there to help guide you and show you some special painting techniques. You can let your group pick from our selection, or decide on specific options for your group ahead of time with our special events coordinator.

2 hours, 6 person minimum, 25 person maximum.

Room reservation fee: 6-10 people $75, 11-25 people $100. Required at time of booking.

Creativity on the Go: Off-Site Event

Handbuilding: We come to you! We offer multiple hand built projects such as mugs, bud vases, planters, candle holders, and platters. We bring all of the clay and tools you need for your project. All you need to bring is your creativity!

1.5 hours of instruction, 10 person minimum, 25 person maximum.

Only serving within the 275 loop at this time. We can set it up as a reoccurring event. Pots will need to be picked up from QCC by the person that booked the event, or we can deliver them to one location for $25. Pots will be ready in 3-4 weeks.

$650 for up to 10 participants. (non-profits/libraries get 25% off) Any more than 10 will be $65 per person.

Pottery Painting: We bring pre-made bisque items for you to paint. Get as creative as you want! This includes glazes and firing. Check with the Special Events Coordinator to see what bisque items will be available at the time.

$450 for up to 10 participants. Any more than 10 will be $35 per person.
