Queen City Clay

We are always looking to bring you great quality workshops. We offer both in studio and virtual workshops for beginners to advanced ceramic artists and potters. Check in often to see what we have coming up.

Tile Mural Workshop

October 1st, 10am-3pm

Patrick Dougherty is a master of architectural ceramics, doing both public and private installations for more years than he’d like to count.  In this one day workshop he will  share all his secrets for successfully creating anything in clay that you’d like to install on a wall!  Participants will learn how to join multiple slabs to create a uniform  base slab of any desired size.  This could then be used for a backsplash; signage; or, for our purpose, a mural.

A technique for creating a faux mosaic will then be demonstrated using the base slab for this purpose.  Additionally, adhering other elements to the base will be shown.
The day will start with slides of examples before starting to work.  We’ll break for lunch about halfway through, then reconvene to finish the day.  Demonstration only.

Screen Printing Workshop

July 16 &17    10am-12pm each day

For this special two day workshop, QCC has partnered with Cincinnati’s own, Jennifer Purdum of Miami University & FUSE Press, a local printing studio, to develop a workshop that brings ceramics to meet screenprinting!

In this workshop, Jennifer & QCC artist in resident, Emma Robinson, will walk participants through every step of the process from creating a design, to actually screenprinting their own underglaze transfers, to then transferring the images onto clay.

Spots are limited - sign up for this very unique opportunity today!
