Ohio, Norwood “Call for Proposal” (July 21–August 18) Queen City Clay is currently seeking proposals for solo and group shows in their Martindell Gallery. The gallery consists of 1200 square feet with 82 linear feet of plywood-backed finished walls for suitable for hanging. Fee: $30. Juried from digital. Juror: TBA. Please welcome back to Queen City Clay, our friend, Iku!
Iku Shibata has been a ceramic artist in Japan for over 35 years, creating both production and independent art. His work has won multiple awards and is displayed in public spaces in several different countries. We have been lucky to offer intensive workshops with Iku in the past and are so excited to have Iku back in the studio, even if for a brief period of time!
Since his visit this year will be short, we will not have any formal classes or workshops, however, Iku will be working in the studio and available to meet with students on Friday, May 12th, 2-4pm & Wednesday, May 17th, 4-6pm. This is a great opportunity to stop in and see observe Iku working while having the opportunity to ask questions!
