Everyone likes to know where an artist’s ideas come from.  Mine flow from bringing wood and clay together, chasing the idea of a perfect curve across a bowl or platter, wanting my tools to be as beautiful as that moment is.

I love wood grain.  It just begs me to create a form to capture, use and display what caught my eye when I first saw it.  I am a visual and tactile person.  I think things should look beautiful and feel beautiful.  I shape and sand my tools to feel smooth and natural in the hand.  I could make something of wood just to look at, but how much better to make something that belongs in the hand.
