QCC Kids

While our long term classes here at Queen City Clay are for adults, 18 & up, we offer several options for one-time programs you can enjoy with your kids. If you are looking for ongoing children’s classes check out The Art Workshop (info below).

Pottery Painting is always open for walk-ins of all ages, where you can feel free to bring snacks and hang out as long as you want while your kids enjoy some time painting. Pottery painting also offers seasonal workshops, many of which are geared towards children.  You can also schedule an appointment to get hand/footprints keepsakes made for your kids.

Family Open Wheel programs are offered every first and third Saturday of the month and are a super fun introduction to the wheel that your whole family can do together.  Everybody will make at least one piece in this 2 hour program.  You pick the color, we fire and glaze it and call you when it’s ready.

Yes, you can schedule your kid’s Parties with us!  Options include a pottery painting, wheel throwing, or handbuilding party.  Bring whatever snacks and treats you want, have it catered, or order pizza…totally up to you.  There is an additional room outside of the studio space that is available to rent if you need it!

Looking for more intensive instruction?  You can always schedule a Private Lesson with one of our instructors.  This can be a good option for high school students who’ve taken pottery lessons in the past and want to keep getting better, or for families who want a private class instead of the group instruction offered in Open Wheel.

The Art Workshop is Queen City Clay’s kid connection and is located right here in our building. Offering Art Classes and Summer Camps for ages 4 and up, the Art Workshop has been in Cincinnati for over 25 years. Summer Camps are full or half days with before and after care available. Drawing, painting, pottery wheel, sculpting clay, cartooning, and other imaginative subjects (Night at the Museum, Christmas in July) provide kids with the fun and creative experiences that you look for in a day camp. Check out the choices offered for your child by clicking here.
